The interest of the Indonesian people in continuing their education to higher education levels is still relatively low, at only 6.68% of the total population of Indonesia (18.7/280 million people). Lampung is one of the provinces facing this issue, with data from 2023 showing that 77.36% of high school graduates in Lampung Province do not continue their education to higher education levels. Ringin Jaya Village is one of many villages in Lampung Province where students have a low interest in continuing their education to higher education levels. The main factors causing this are the limited number of schools, the family's economic conditions, and the lack of understanding regarding the importance of higher education. However, the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia Article 31 Paragraph 1 mandates that "every citizen has the right to education." Therefore, based on these issues and mandates, the implementation of community service in the form of socializing the importance of continuing higher education is a service program that needs to be carried out. This socialization aims to provide students with an understanding of the importance of continuing higher education, including the various benefits they will gain by pursuing higher education. In addition, this socialization also provides information about scholarship opportunities that can help them reduce the costs of higher education. Through this service, it is hoped that students can be motivated to continue their education to higher education levels. The results of the community service show an increase in students' knowledge about the benefits and importance of continuing higher education. This increase in knowledge helps them to enhance their motivation to continue their education up to the higher education level. As a new technology, ChatGPT has been integrated into teaching and learning, but there is still a lack of studies on ChatGPT-assisted problem-based learning in physics. Therefore, this study investigates its integration in relation to students’ academic achievement and ChatGPT acceptance. This study used a quasi-experimental design with 65 students who divided into an experimental class and a control class. Data were collected via pre- and post-tests and analyzed using Rasch analysis, ANCOVA, t-test, and DIF, supported by validated instruments and expert review. The study found that students in the experimental group, who used ChatGPT-assisted Problem-Based Learning (PBL), showed significantly higher post-test scores in physics compared to the control group. Wright Map and DIF analyses revealed stronger performance on higher-order conceptual items among the experimental group. ANCOVA confirmed a large effect size (η² = 0.715) for the intervention. Rasch analysis of ChatGPT acceptance showed that the experimental group had higher agreement with most items, and independent t-tests indicated significantly greater acceptance across variables like attitude, habit, and behavioral intention. These findings support ChatGPT-assisted PBL as effective for both learning outcomes and technology acceptance.

Mathematics Education And Application Journal (META)

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly integrated into education, including mathematics learning, yet its successful implementation largely depends on teachers’ acceptance and readiness. This study aims to examine the determinants of AI acceptance and use among pre-service mathematics teachers by employing the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB), which comprises Attitude (AT), Social Norms (SN), Perceived Behavioral Control (PBC), Behavioral Intention (BI), and AI Use (AIU). A quantitative, cross-sectional survey design was used. Data were collected from 427 Generation Z pre-service mathematics teachers enrolled in three Indonesian universities using an online questionnaire. The instrument was adapted from a previously validated TPB-based scale, and data were analyzed using PLS-SEM with SmartPLS. The measurement model demonstrated excellent reliability and validity, and the structural model indicated very good fit (SRMR = 0.044). All hypothesized relationships were supported (p < 0.001). SN emerged as the strongest predictor of BI, followed by AT and PBC, while BI was the most powerful determinant of AIU (β = 0.849). These findings highlight the central role of social influence, positive attitudes, and technological efficacy in shaping pre-service teachers’ intentions and actual use of AI. The study implies that teacher education programs should design courses and practicum experiences that foster positive beliefs about AI, enhance digital competence, and leverage supportive social environments to promote meaningful AI integration in mathematics classrooms.

Arunika Journal of Education and Evaluation

The rapid advancement of science and technology has increased the importance of fostering positive student attitudes toward STEM education, as these attitudes play a crucial role in shaping future learning and career pathways. This study aims to validate an instrument designed to measure high school students’ attitudes toward STEM using the Rasch measurement model. A quantitative cross-sectional design was employed, involving 128 students from two schools in Mataram selected through convenience sampling. The instrument, adapted from previous research, underwent translation, back-translation, and expert validation to ensure content and construct appropriateness. Data were collected through a face-to-face survey and analyzed using Winsteps software. The results indicate high reliability, with person reliability of 0.95 and item reliability of 0.91, supported by strong separation indices and a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.96. Most items demonstrated acceptable fit statistics, although a few items showed misfit and require revision. The Wright map revealed that students generally exhibit high attitudes toward STEM, with some limitations in item targeting at higher ability levels. Unidimensionality analysis confirmed that the instrument measures a single dominant construct. These findings suggest that the instrument is a valid and reliable tool for assessing students’ attitudes toward STEM in educational contexts.

Sekolah Dasar: Kajian Teori dan Praktik Pendidikan

Teacher education in rural contexts faces challenges related to limited teaching practice opportunities, technological access, and pedagogical support, which may affect pre-service teachers’ instructional readiness. This study examines the roles of teaching anxiety, teaching efficacy, immersive learning experience, and interest in virtual reality in shaping basic teaching skills through virtual reality–based microteaching among elementary pre-service teachers in rural contexts. A quantitative explanatory design was employed involving 205 pre-service teachers from the Primary School Teacher Education program at Universitas Sulawesi Barat. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling. The findings indicate that immersive learning experience has a strong positive effect on basic teaching skills (β=0.501, p<0.001), followed by teaching efficacy (β=0.372, p<0.001). In contrast, teaching anxiety shows a negative but non-significant effect (β = −0.043, p > 0.05). Additionally, interest in virtual reality positively influences immersive learning experience (β=0.330, p<0.001) and indirectly contributes to basic teaching skills through immersion (β =0.165, p<0.01). The model explains 61.3% of the variance in basic teaching skills (R²=0.613). These results highlight the potential of virtual reality–based microteaching as an effective approach for developing pedagogical skills among elementary pre-service teachers in rural educational settings.
